Job summary

Exceed HR and Recruitment is seeking a Fund Accountant for a permanent role based in Sandton, Johannesburg. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years post- qualification experience in fund accounting and solid IFRS knowledge.

You will prepare NAV reports, maintain loan-level records, and manage investor allocations while coordinating with fund administrators and auditors. The position requires strong Excel skills and hands-on use of AI tools to streamline processes, ensuring accurate, timely financial

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with CA(SA) or equivalent.
• 2–4 years post-qualification experience in fund accounting.
• Strong NAV reporting and IFRS knowledge.
• Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets; capable of AI-driven process improvements.
• Excellent attention to detail with proactive ownership.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly NAV reports and reconcile figures with fund administrators.
• Maintain loan-level accounting records, including interest accruals, fees and FX.
• Calculate management and performance fees and reconcile fund expenses.
• Process capital calls, investor drawdowns, subscriptions, redemptions and distributions.
• Assist with fund financing facilities, repayments and covenant reporting.
• Prepare financial reports, management information, budgets and board packs.
• Coordinate annual fund audits and respond to auditor queries.
• Assist with tax reporting and compliance with external tax advisers.
• Support investor reporting and respond to due diligence requests.
• Identify opportunities to improve fund accounting processes through AI, automation and coding.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
