Job summary

Network Finance in Johannesburg North seeks an experienced Payroll Supervisor to lead the payroll function within our finance team. You will oversee end-to-end payroll processing, ensure accuracy and compliance with SA payroll legislation, and support stakeholders across the business.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in payroll, including supervisory experience, with strong knowledge of PAYE, UIF, SDL, EMP201/EMP501, and hands-on experience with Sage VIP or Sage 300 People and advanced Excel

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Relevant qualification in Payroll Administration, Finance, Accounting or HR.
• Strong knowledge of South African payroll legislation and statutory compliance.
• Experience with PAYE, UIF, SDL, EMP201 and EMP501 submissions.
• Proficient with Sage VIP or Sage 300 People or similar payroll systems.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing and ensure timely salary payments.
• Lead and develop the payroll team to achieve high performance.
• Review inputs such as overtime, leave, deductions and terminations.
• Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
• Manage PAYE, UIF, SDL, EMP201, EMP501 submissions.
• Prepare payroll reconciliations, journals and management reports.
• Resolve payroll queries and maintain data integrity.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, auditors and service providers.
• Drive continuous improvement within payroll processes and controls.
