Job summary

Farm Manager SA in the Eastern Cape seeks a Senior Packhouse Manager to lead citrus packing operations in the Port Elizabeth area. You will oversee planning, quality, safety and staff performance to ensure efficient production.

The role requires strong leadership, HACCP knowledge, and a track record in packhouses or production environments. You will drive continuous improvement and maintain high standards of food safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a packhouse / production / operations role (citrus).
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Operations Management, Production or Agriculture (advantageous).
• Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP, and cold chain management.
• Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• Computer literate (Excel and Outlook).
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organise staff to meet production targets.
• Monitor and improve productivity across shifts.
• Manage quality according to local and internal standards.
• Maintain food safety and health & safety standards in the facility.
• Oversee staff performance and discipline as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Operations Management, Production or Agriculture (advantageous).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a packhouse / production / operations role (citrus).
• Proven experience managing teams.
• Strong understanding of food safety, cold chain management, and HACCP principles.
• Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• Computer literate (Excel and Outlook).
