Job summary

DP World Centurion seeks a Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee outbound logistics, inventory accuracy, and regulatory compliance for the Centurion facility. You will drive efficiency, control costs, and ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and timely responses.

The role requires experience in warehouse management, knowledge of storage and handling regulations, and the ability to lead a team while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Pharmacy act and Medicines and Related Substances Act.
• Understanding of Good Wholesale/Distribution Practice.
• Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
• Excellent reading/writing in English and communication with clients.
• Ability to interact at high level with clients.
• Ability to work in a team and under pressure.
• Proficiency in SAP and basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and improve warehouse efficiencies to ensure optimal operations.
• Manage staff and equipment within budgetary constraints.
• Ensure SHE compliance and regulatory requirements are met.
• Maintain client relationships and respond promptly to queries.
• Monitor stock, conduct stock takes, and report variances.
• Oversee picking, packing and handover of orders to courier on time.
• Coach and train staff on policies and procedures; administer disciplinary action when needed.

Job description

To assume ultimate accountability for Centurion warehouse structures and to develop and optimise the business practices required to ensure the effective and efficient control of outbound logistics, accurate quality and quantity of inventory, reduced risk, client satisfaction and compliance to relevant policy and regulatory requirements.

Key Performance Areas (KPAs)

Overall Activity and Performance of Operation

• Monitor, Improve and review warehouse efficiencies to ensure Operations continually performs at optimum level

Budget

• Manage Staff and Equipment resources in line with budgetary constraints

Health and Safety Management

• Manage SHE compliance as per OHS Act and Company directives

Client Retention and Customer Service

• Maintain relationships between Clients, Customers and the Warehouse at the highest level through effective communication and prompt response, follow‑up and resolution of all queries

Quality and Regulatory Compliance

• Monitor and maintain compliance to regulatory and quality requirements.
• Address findings of audit report and complete NC’s with CAPA report within the agreed timelines
• Self inspections to be done timeously

Inventory Control

• Monitor stock shrinkage and control the warehouse with respect to proper handling, replenishment and storage of stock by ensuring that stock takes are conducted in accordance with client /internal schedule and investigation, analyze and report on all variances promptly
• Ensure timely Picking, Checking, Packing and handover of orders to courier within handover cut‑off times
• Ensure timely offloading and Putaway is completed

Staff Management

• Manage staff in a firm but fair manner.
• Coach, guide and training of staff on all applicable policies and procedures.
• Adhere to HR procedures and take disciplinary action where needed.
• Monitor and manage absenteeism, staff performance that all records needed are easily retrievable

Qualifications Required

• Matric or equivalent
• Related tertiary qualification.

Skills and Experience Required

• Working knowledge of the Pharmacy act/Medicines and Related substances act
• Knowledge of Good Wholesale/Distribution Practice
• Analytical skills, attention to detail
• Good reading and writing skills in English. Good communication skills
