Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery within the Midrand facility.
• Manage and mentor a large team of operational staff, including supervisors and frontline employees, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, and receiving, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, sales, and finance, to ensure seamless operations and alignment with company objectives.
• Manage operational budgets, control expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service.
• Lead continuous improvement projects using lean methodologies and best practices to streamline processes and enhance productivity.
• Handle escalated operational issues and provide timely resolutions, ensuring minimal disruption to business continuity.
• Represent the company professionally in interactions with stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field. A Master's degree is advantageous.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in operations management, preferably within the logistics or retail supply chain sector.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing large teams (50+) in a complex operational environment, ideally in or near Gauteng .
• Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control, and supply chain optimization techniques.
• Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proven ability to drive change and implement process improvements effectively.
• Familiarity with South African labor laws and workplace safety regulations.
• Adaptability and resilience to manage effectively in a demanding and evolving business landscape.
