Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Facilities Engineer to oversee the design, operation and maintenance of processing facilities in Klerksdorp, North West. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams on projects from new builds to upgrades, ensuring reliability and safety.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical, electrical and process engineering, plus 7+ years in Oil & Gas facilities. You will mentor staff and drive compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of facilities engineering experience in Oil & Gas.
• Strong knowledge of process equipment, P&IDs, mechanical integrity and safety systems.
• Experience with project engineering including cost estimation, scheduling and contract management.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, specification and implementation of new process facilities and modifications.
• Develop and manage maintenance strategies including preventive and predictive programs.
• Conduct risk assessments (HAZOP, LOPA) and ensure safety and environmental compliance.
• Troubleshoot operational issues related to facility performance and equipment integrity.
• Collaborate with project management, operations and HSE to deliver on time and within budget.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff in Klerksdorp.
