Job summary

Placements24 in Sandton is seeking a competent Facilities Engineer to support oil and gas operations from its Sandton offices. The role covers design, maintenance, and optimization of surface facilities including processing plants, pipelines, and storage terminals, ensuring safe and compliant operation.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team to maintain asset integrity, improve uptime, and drive project delivery, while adhering to API/ASME standards and environmental policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering.
• 6+ years of oil and gas facilities engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of process design, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
• Experience with piping design, stress analysis, and P&ID development.
• Familiarity with API and ASME codes.
• Excellent project management and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, and modify surface facilities for oil and gas production.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure asset integrity.
• Oversee facility upgrades, modifications, and new construction.
• Troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis for equipment failures.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
• Collaborate with project teams, operations, and HSE on facility matters.
