Job summary

National Nuclear Regulator in Cape Town seeks a seasoned Regulatory Reviewer to perform reviews and assessments of documents submitted by authorisation holders, focused on Nuclear Reactor and Safety Analysis. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide technical support to audits, inspections, and regulatory standards development.

The role requires NQF level 7 in Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical/Nuclear Engineering, a minimum of 10 years' regulatory or nuclear industry

Qualifications

NQF level 7 in Chemical or Electrical or Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering.
Minimum of 10 years professional experience in a regulatory and/or nuclear industry environment.
Knowledge of the principles and requirements for Nuclear Reactor and Safety Analysis.

Responsibilities

Perform reviews and assessments of technical submissions for new applications.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on reviews and assessments.
Review submissions such as plant modifications and licensing changes; update related documents.
Provide technical support to audits and inspections related to plant changes and procurement quality.
Represent the organisation in meetings with external stakeholders.
Mentor junior staff and participate in management discussions.
