Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a Networking Managed Services Engineer (L2) in Cape Town to join our team and support client IT infrastructure. You’ll monitor, investigate, and resolve incidents, provide second-line support, and work closely with clients and internal teams to restore services per SLAs.

You’ll participate in change management, CAB processes, and automation initiatives with our CoE, while coaching L1 staff and contributing to project work.

Qualifications

• Assist in implementing IT security measures.
• Working knowledge of Ansible and Python.
• Working knowledge of Cisco and Aruba switching technologies.
• Knowledge of enterprise wi-fi technologies (Cisco/Aruba/Meraki).
• Understand firewalls and other network tools.
• Provide system documentation and diagrams.
• Implement change management procedures for system architecture changes.
• Document network areas to develop network diagrams.
• Evaluate current IT resources and develop security policies.
• Ensure systems and networks are secure and operational.
• Experience with SD-WAN technologies and Fortigate.
• Identify and investigate risk and vulnerability issues.

Responsibilities

• Review client requests and tickets to resolve incidents of medium complexity.
• Act as second-line support and escalate when needed.
• Collaborate with CoE and automation teams to optimize tasks.
• Coach Service desk and L1 teams in technical and behavioural skills.
• Participate in CAB processes for changes and document outcomes.
• Contribute to change management and audit incident tickets for quality.
• Develop trend analysis and identify automation opportunities.
