Job summary

iLaunch in Cape Town is seeking a Senior Server Support Engineer to provide 2nd line support across server management, end user computing and support layers. You will work closely with 1st line for escalations and ensure SLA commitments.

The role requires strong data centre experience, 5+ years in server environments, and a tertiary IT qualification with MCSE (or equivalent). Valid driver's license and own transport are essential.

Qualifications

• Matric or Grade 12.
• IT Diploma/ Degree with MCSE or equivalent certification.
• Minimum 5 years of data centre/server experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with escalations from 1st line support engineers.
• Provide 2nd line data centre support at the server infrastructure level.
• Escalate to 3rd line timeously to maintain SLA commitments, to further remediate and resolve the incident.
• Preventative maintenance (Patch management).
• Regular updating the Service Desk and all customers with progress-information and estimated times to completion.
