Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Network Engineer to join our remote-first team, driving the design, deployment and optimization of our expansive telecoms network.

You will work with a global engineering group to ensure high availability, implement secure routing (BGP/OSPF/IS-IS), monitor performance, document configurations, and mentor junior engineers in a flexible, home-office setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive network engineering experience, telecoms preferred.
• Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, routing, switching, and security concepts.
• Experience with cloud environments and network automation is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable and secure network solutions for our extensive telecommunications network.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including configuration guides, network diagrams, and operational procedures for a distributed team.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate network services and support new product deployments.
• Provide expert-level technical support and troubleshooting for advanced network incidents, demonstrating strong analytical capabilities.
• Mentor and guide junior network engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the remote team structure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in network engineering , with a substantial portion in the telecoms industry.
• Strong command of routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, IS-IS), switching technologies, and network security principles.
• Proficiency with network management platforms, monitoring tools, and diagnostic utilities.
• Experience with cloud environments and network automation tools is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively and independently in a remote setting.
