Job summary

ATS Client is seeking a Specialist Network Engineer - L3 to design, implement, and maintain complex Cisco-based networks in Johannesburg. You will lead high-level troubleshooting, incident management, and project work, ensuring alignment with client expectations and industry standards.

The role requires extensive experience in routing, switching, security, MPLS/SD-WAN, and mentoring engineers. You will work across teams, contribute to design documents, and provide input to incident reports while

Qualifications

• Cisco CCNP certification is mandatory.
• CCIE is preferred but not mandatory.
• ITIL v3 Foundation is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain network environments.
• Day-to-day support of customer network environments.
• Lead project and support work on Cisco networks.
• Troubleshoot high-level faults and update clients and stakeholders.
• Regularly update ticketing systems ServiceNow / Autotask with notes.
• Perform project-related duties for new and changing infrastructure deployments.
• Mentor and train less experienced engineers with escalations.
• Provide input to customer-facing Technical Incident Reports.
• Capture repeat faults and perform root cause analysis.
• Identify fault trends proactively.
• Work to industry-standard project methodologies.
• Develop and maintain low- and high-level designs.
• Test operability for migrations.
• Develop peer relationships with key suppliers.
• Collaborate with Team Leader on continual improvement programs.
• Provide technical consultancy across the business for opportunities.
• Provide feasible technical solutions without compromising commercial viability.
• Lead Engineer role for some clients when required.
• Stay up to date and accredited with current technologies.
