About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned Senior Network Engineer to manage and enhance their robust network infrastructure in Stellenbosch . This role is essential for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our client's network systems, which are critical for daily operations and future growth. You will be involved in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network solutions, troubleshooting issues, and staying ahead of emerging network technologies. The ideal candidate is an expert in network architecture and protocols, dedicated to maintaining a highly reliable and secure network environment, contributing significantly to the seamless connectivity and operational efficiency of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level network solutions, including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN technologies.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and implement proactive solutions to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
• Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers from leading vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto).
• Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
• Plan and execute network upgrades and migrations, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers and support staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in network engineering and administration.
• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and network architectures.
• Hands-on experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix).
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE are highly desirable.
