Job summary

Placements24 in Vereeniging, Gauteng, seeks a Senior Network Planning Engineer to shape telecom network growth. You will forecast capacity, design scalable architectures for mobile and broadband, and evaluate new technologies to boost performance.

Requirements: Bachelor's in Telecommunications Engineering or related field, at least seven years in network planning and design, strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP and MPLS, and experience with network modeling tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in telecommunications network planning and design.
Strong understanding of network architectures, protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS), and transport technologies.
Proficiency in network modeling and simulation tools.

Responsibilities

Develop long-term network capacity plans based on traffic forecasts and business objectives.
Design scalable and resilient network architectures for services (mobile, broadband).
Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance network performance.
Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for network expansion projects.
Collaborate with engineering teams on implementation of network designs.
Analyze network performance data to identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
Prepare technical documentation and presentations for stakeholders.
Stay abreast of industry trends in network planning and architecture.
