Placements24 is seeking a Senior Nanotechnology Engineer to lead the design, fabrication, and testing of advanced nanomaterials and nanodevices at our Centurion facility in Gauteng. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to push the boundaries of nanoscale engineering and contribute to groundbreaking research.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD with at least 6 years of hands-on nanotech R&D, strong lithography and materials characterization skills, and proven leadership in technical projects.

Qualifications

• PhD in a related field with nanotech specialization.
• Minimum 6 years hands-on nanotechnology R&D experience.
• Expertise in nanofabrication techniques (photolithography, e-beam lithography, ALD, CVD).
• Proficiency with SEM, TEM, AFM, XRD, XPS.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and collaborative skills.
• Ability to lead projects and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, fabrication, and testing of nanoscale materials and devices.
• Characterize nanomaterials using SEM/TEM/AFM/XRD/XPS.
• Develop and optimize fabrication processes for novel nanostructures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate nano solutions.
• Prepare technical reports and contribute to IP documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Drive strategic direction of the nanotech program.
