Virgin Active South Africa (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer to design, build, and evolve mobile app capabilities using Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP). You’ll work closely with Engineering Managers, Product, Designers, QA, and backend engineers to deliver high‑quality Android and iOS experiences through shared KMP modules and platform‑specific implementations where needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in software engineering.
• 6+ years of professional software development experience in mobile engineering.
• Deep hands‑on experience with mobile delivery and ownership of complex mobile projects.
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) and cross‑platform delivery.
• Strong understanding of mobile architecture and maintainable software design.
• Experience integrating mobile apps with backend APIs and services.

Responsibilities

• Own design, build, and delivery of complex mobile features using Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
• Evolve shared business logic, domain, networking, and platform integration layers for Android and iOS.
• Lead technical input in planning, estimation, and architecture discussions.
• Drive reusable design decisions to optimize performance and user experience.
• Provide code reviews and raise implementation quality across the team.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery including testing, release, and post‑release support.
