Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee major mining projects in the Northern Cape. You will lead complex capital programs from feasibility through construction, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and on-time delivery.

The role requires 10+ years in project management within mining or heavy industry, an engineering degree, and PMP certification is highly valued. You will manage budgets, teams, and stakeholders and report to senior management.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of experience in project management, with a significant portion in mining or heavy industrial sectors.
• Proven expertise in managing large capital projects across feasibility, design, and construction phases.
• Strong understanding of mining operations, safety protocols, and environmental management.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and closeout of large-scale mining projects, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Manage project teams, contractors, and stakeholders, fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Develop and manage project budgets, resources, and schedules for mining-related capital projects.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, including safety, environmental, and operational hazards.
• Ensure effective communication and reporting on project progress to senior management and stakeholders.
