Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Engineer focused on production to join our client’s Mahikeng operation in the North West. You will develop short-to-medium term production plans, lead mining crews, optimize equipment use, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with planning, geology, and engineering teams to drive productivity and continuous improvement in a demanding mining environment in Mahikeng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• GCC is highly desirable for advancement.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mining operations with a production focus.
• Experience in open-pit or underground mining operations per site requirements.
• Strong knowledge of mining methods, equipment, and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in mine planning and production management software.
• Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental management in mining.

Responsibilities

Our client, a significant mining operation, is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Engineer with a focus on production to join their team in Mahikeng, North West. This critical role involves the planning, execution, and optimization of all mining production activities to meet operational targets safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing short-to-medium term production plans, managing mining crews, overseeing equipment utilization, and ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards. You will leverage your extensive knowledge of mining methods and operational best practices to drive productivity and continuous improvement within the Mahikeng, North West mining environment.

Key Responsibilities
