About the Role

Our client seeks a proactive Senior Mining Data Analyst to enhance data-driven decision-making within their Stellenbosch operations. This role supports a hybrid work model, allowing for both remote data analysis and on-site collaboration with geological and operational teams. You will be instrumental in collecting, processing, and analyzing vast amounts of mining data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in exploration, production, and processing. Your insights will directly influence operational strategies and project viability.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and organize diverse mining datasets from various sources (e.g., geological surveys, production logs, sensor data).
• Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms to analyze mining performance, resource estimates, and operational efficiency.
• Create compelling visualizations, dashboards, and reports to communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor trends to proactively identify risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and operations managers to understand data needs and provide analytical support.
• Stay current with advancements in data analytics, data science, and their applications within the mining sector.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mining Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
