Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Mineral Resource Manager to lead the resource estimation and management function for operations near Upington. This senior role oversees geological interpretation, modeling, and reporting of resources and reserves in line with JORC and NI 43-101 standards, working with exploration, mining, and metallurgical teams.

You will provide expert guidance, lead technical teams, develop methodologies for resource estimation, and prepare public-facing reports.

Qualifications

Master's or PhD in Geology, Economic Geology, or related field.
Minimum 12 years' experience in mineral resource estimation and evaluation.
Experience with geological modeling software Leapfrog, Micromine, and Vulcan.
Thorough understanding of JORC and NI 43-101 reporting codes.
Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage complex projects.
Excellent communication and presentation of complex technical information.

Responsibilities

Lead the geological team responsible for mineral resource estimation and modeling.
Develop robust methodologies for resource and reserve estimation.
Review and validate drilling, assay, and logging data.
Prepare high-quality technical reports for resource and reserve statements.
Collaborate with mine planning to integrate resource models into mine plans.
Provide expert technical advice on resource exploration, evaluation and management to senior leadership.
