Job summary
Placements24 is seeking an innovative Process Engineer specialized in mineral processing to join a Randburg team. You will optimize efficiency, yield, and cost-effectiveness of mineral extraction and processing plants, troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and ensure peak performance while meeting safety and environmental standards.
The role requires a degree in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering, at least six years of mineral processing experience, and hands-on use of MetSim and HSC
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in mineral processing and strong metallurgical principles.
- Proven experience with process simulation software (MetSim, HSC Chemistry) and data analysis.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and optimize mineral processing circuits to improve recovery and quality.
- Troubleshoot operations and implement solutions to minimize downtime and maximize throughput.
- Design and oversee implementation of process modifications and upgrades.
- Conduct performance testing and data analysis for unit operations (e.g., comminution, flotation, leaching).
- Develop and maintain process documentation, operating procedures, and P&IDs.
- Collaborate with site operations, maintenance, and technical teams to achieve targets and safety objectives.
