Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a qualified Mine Surveyor for a well-established mining operation in Paarl, Western Cape. You will map and measure underground and surface mine workings, supporting planning, development, and compliance with precise spatial data.

The role requires 5+ years in both environments, SAGC Pr.Mine.Surv registration, and proficiency with total stations, CAD (AutoCAD, Deswik, MineSight), GPS/GNSS, and drones.

Qualifications

• Qualified mine surveyor with SAGC registration and Pr.Mine.Surv designation.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in both underground and surface mining.
• Proficiency with survey instruments and CAD/mine planning software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct topographic, cadastral, and control surveys for surface and underground mining.
• Establish and maintain survey control networks.
• Measure and record underground excavations and development ends.
• Prepare and update mine plans, sections, and graphical representations.
• Use total stations, GPS/GNSS, scanners, and drones for data acquisition.
• Process and analyze survey data with AutoCAD, Deswik, MineSight.
• Perform volume calculations for ore, waste, and stockpiles.
• Collaborate with mine planning, engineering, and geology teams.
• Maintain equipment calibration and comply with safety regulations.
