Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mine Infrastructure Engineer for a major mining organization in East London, Eastern Cape. The role covers design, construction and ongoing maintenance of mine surface facilities, roads, drainage and potentially rail links.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree, Pr.Eng registration (desirable), and 10+ years of infrastructure project leadership within mining or heavy industry. Travel to sites and regulatory compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional registration (Pr.Eng) is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in managing infrastructure projects, with mining or heavy industrial exposure.
• Proven design and construction experience of roads, earthworks, and reinforced concrete structures.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and software (e.g., MS Project).
• Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and mitigation strategies.
• Understanding of South African engineering standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to travel to mine sites and reside within commuting distance of East London.

Responsabilités

About the Role

Our client, a prominent mining organization, is seeking a Senior Mine Infrastructure Engineer to join their team in East London, Eastern Cape . This role is pivotal in overseeing the design, construction, and maintenance of essential mine infrastructure, including surface facilities, roads, drainage systems, and possibly rail links. The Senior Mine Infrastructure Engineer will ensure that all infrastructure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will possess strong project management skills, a deep understanding of civil and structural engineering principles applied to mining, and a commitment to sustainable development. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the lifecycle of mine infrastructure projects, from conception and design through to construction and handover.

Requirements
