Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mine Geologist for our client in the Benoni, Gauteng area. The role focuses on geological modeling, resource estimation, and providing essential geological support to mining operations.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in structural geology, resource modeling, and data management within a mining context, and is willing to work underground. SACNASP registration is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or Economic Geology.
• 7+ years of mine geology experience including resource estimation and grade control.
• Experience with geological modeling software such as Leapfrog, Vulcan, Surpac, or Datamine.
• Strong grasp of structural geology, sedimentology, or related disciplines.
• Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills.
• Willingness to work underground and SACNASP registration is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain geological models and resource estimates for active mining areas.
• Provide geological advice to mine planning and operations teams.
• Conduct geological mapping, core logging, and sampling for exploration and grade control purposes.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of structural geology, sedimentology, or relevant geological disciplines for the commodities mined.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
• Proficiency in geological data management systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to work underground as required.
• Must be legally entitled to work in South Africa and reside or be willing to relocate near Benoni .
• Professional registration with SACNASP or equivalent is an advantage.
