Placements24, on behalf of a leading mining corporation, seeks a Senior Mine Engineer to join operations in Klerksdorp, North West. You will plan, design and execute safe, efficient mining programs and optimize production and costs.

The role requires a Mine Engineering degree, 8+ years of progressive experience in mine engineering, and strong leadership. Proficiency in Deswik/Surpac/Datamine and knowledge of SA mining laws are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in mine engineering and operations, with senior responsibilities.
• Experience in underground and open-pit mining, preferably gold or base metals.
• Proficiency in mine planning/design software: Deswik, Surpac, Datamine.
• Strong understanding of mine economics, budgeting and financial analysis.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of South African mining legislation and safety standards.
• Professional registration (e.g., Pr.Eng) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed mine plans, schedules, and budgets for short- and long-term operations.
• Design and implement optimized mining methods for underground or open-pit operations.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new projects or modifications.
