Job summary

Network Contracting in Sandton seeks a Senior Java Developer for a 12-month contract. With 10+ years of experience, you will work on enterprise-scale applications in a fast-paced, banking environment, contributing to both backend and frontend layers using Java, Angular and modern tech.

You will design, develop, test, mentor, and collaborate with stakeholders, ensuring high availability, performance, and adherence to SDLC.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Java development experience across enterprise projects.
• Strong backend and frontend development with Java, Angular and related tech.
• Experience mentoring developers and conducting peer code reviews.
• Banking or financial services domain experience is advantageous.
• Bachelors or higher IT qualification as listed in minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and implement enterprise Java applications following SDLC best practices.
• Develop robust backend services and modern frontend solutions using Java, Angular.
• Produce technical specifications, architecture documentation and system enhancements.
• Perform code reviews, maintain coding standards and provide technical guidance to junior developers.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers and technical teams to deliver innovative technology solutions.
• Identify, analyse and resolve production issues while ensuring maximum system availability and performance.
• Participate in change management, governance, audit and release management processes.
• Continuously improve application performance, scalability and operational efficiency.
