Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Software Engineer specializing in microservices to join a remote-first engineering team. Lead design, development, and deployment of robust microservices, APIs, and cloud-native solutions across modern stacks.

You will collaborate with architects, product managers, and other engineers to build scalable distributed systems, drive performance, and ensure high availability in a fully remote setting. 6+ years of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of professional software development experience with a focus on distributed systems and microservices.
• Proficient in Java, Go, Python, or C#.
• Extensive experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of cloud-native architectures; experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with Kafka or RabbitMQ and event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices.
• Implement RESTful and gRPC APIs for inter-service communication and integrations.
• Optimize services for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure quality.
• Define service boundaries, data models, and communication protocols with architects and engineers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex distributed systems issues.
