Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Metallurgical Engineer for a fully remote technical team. You will optimize mineral processing operations, design metallurgical tests, and model processes to support global operations.

Strong analytical skills and effective remote collaboration are essential to drive improvements in complex processing plants. Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Metallurgical Engineering (Master’s preferred) and 7+ years in mineral processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in mineral processing and extractive metallurgy.
• Strong understanding of metallurgical principles and unit operations.
• Proficiency with METSIM and JKSimMet for simulation and modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee laboratory and pilot-scale metallurgical test programs.
• Analyze metallurgical data to identify process improvements and cost reductions.
• Develop and optimize comminution, flotation, leaching, and other circuits.
• Perform process modeling and simulation to predict plant performance.
• Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting to site operations.
• Prepare metallurgical reports, recommendations, and presentations.
• Stay updated with advancements in metallurgical equipment and methods.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical capability development.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
