Job summary

BVi Consulting Engineers Western Cape (Pty) Ltd in Cape Town is seeking a Mechanical Revit BIM Modeler for a permanent position.

You will develop and coordinate MEP BIM models using Revit, lead modelling for HVAC, fire protection, and wet services, and collaborate with engineers, architects, and contractors to resolve design and coordination issues.

Mentoring junior BIM modelers and maintaining standards will be a key part of the role.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in MEP BIM modelling.
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit (MEP).
• Strong Navisworks knowledge.
• Understanding of SANS 10400-O&T standards and local compliance requirements.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior BIM modelers.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and coordinate detailed MEP BIM models using Autodesk Revit.
• Lead modelling for HVAC, fire protection, and wet services systems.
• Ensure models comply with standards and BIM execution plans.
• Perform advanced clash detection and coordination using Navisworks.
• Set up, manage, and maintain Revit families, templates, and standards.
• Utilize BIM 360 for model sharing, collaboration, and version control.
• Prepare detailed HVAC, Fire, Wet services drawings, sections, and coordinated layouts.
• Extract quantities and assist in cost estimation where required.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and contractors to resolve design and coordination issues.
• Review and validate models for accuracy, constructability, and compliance.
• Mentor junior BIM modelers and provide technical guidance.
