Job summary

BVi Consulting Engineers (Pty) Ltd in Pretoria is seeking a Mechanical BIM Modeller to join the design office and produce detailed drawings for HVAC, WETS and Fire services using Revit and AutoCAD.

You will set up Revit families, coordinate layouts, and support engineers and project managers while ensuring compliance with local standards. Willingness to relocate to Pretoria is required.

Qualifications

• Draughting certificate is essential.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Min 5-7 years relevant industry experience.
• Experience in BIM Modelling, Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
• Familiar with SANS 10400-"O & T" standards.
• Willing to relocate to Pretoria.

Responsibilities

• Draughting mechanical services (HVAC, WETS and Fire) in Revit & AutoCad.
• Prepare detailed HVAC, Fire, Wet services drawings, sections, and coordinated layouts.
• Set up, manage, and maintain Revit families, templates, and standards.
• Extract quantities and assist in cost estimation where required.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and contractors to resolve design and coordination issues.
• Review and validate models for accuracy, constructability, and compliance.
• Guide and support draughting team in the office.
• Technical support to Senior Project Managers & Project Directors.
• Site inspections and compiling snag lists related to mechanical services.

• Form part of an existing design office
• Draughting mechanical services (HVAC, WETS and Fire) in Revit & AutoCad
• Prepare detailed HVAC, Fire, Wet services drawings, sections, and coordinated layouts.

Key Requirements:

• Exposure to HVAC load calculation software such as Carrier HAP will be an advantageous
• Experience in BIM Modelling, Revit MEP and AutoCad
• Strong knowledge of SANS 10400- "O & T" standards and local compliance requirements
• Proven ability to create and manage Revit families and parametric components
• Familiarity with BIM workflows and coordination processes
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately
• Must be proficient in MS Office packages
• Must have worked with Mechanical Building Services, HVAC, WETS and Fire
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required
• Technical understanding of how MEP Services work
• Strong teamwork skills required
• Strong time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Sound knowledge of statutory standards and regulations
