Job summary

Boardroom Appointments in Pretoria is seeking a Senior Mechanical Master Technician to ensure continuous operation of converting equipment and to perform preventative maintenance to improve mechanical reliability across all machines.

The role requires an N4/N6 in Mechanical Engineering, at least 10 years post-apprentice experience in FMCG manufacturing, advanced fault finding, and the ability to coach peers while adhering to safety and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• N4 or N6 in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 10+ years post-apprentice experience in FMCG manufacturing.
• Proven ability to fault-find advanced mechanical issues.
• Experience with converting/packaging machine timing and mechanical drives.

Responsibilities

• Ensure 24-hour operations through priority repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Attend to major breakdown repairs promptly.
• Maintain work safely and efficiently, improving quality standards.
• Identify root causes of failures and implement corrective actions with Site Engineer.
• Ensure spare parts availability and manage equipment risk profile.
• Cooperate with external service providers ensuring safety compliance.
• Coach peers and support safety, asset management and ISO programs.
