Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of robotic systems in a remote-first environment. You will drive mechanical architecture for manipulators, mobile platforms, and end-effectors, collaborating with software, electrical, and AI teams worldwide.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, 7+ years in robotics or automation, and CAD/FEA expertise (SolidWorks, ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink).

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of professional mechanical design experience with robotics/mechatronics/automation.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and simulation tools (SolidWorks, ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink).
• Strong understanding of kinematics, dynamics, control, and materials science for robotics.
• Experience with motion control, actuation, sensing integration, and power transmission in robotic systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage remote projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with virtual collaboration tools.

Responsabilités

• Lead mechanical design and development of robotic systems (manipulators, end-effectors, mobile platforms).
• Create 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings (SolidWorks, Fusion 360).
• Perform structural, kinematic, and dynamic analyses using FEA and simulations.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, and AI teams via virtual channels.
• Select materials and components considering weight, strength, cost, environment.
• Oversee prototyping, 3D printing, machining, and remote testing.
• Develop technical documentation, design reports and test protocols.
• Troubleshoot design issues and implement improvements from data.
• Stay updated on robotics, mechatronics, and automation advances.
