Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.

• Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
• Familiarity with ASME Section VIII and piping design standards.
• Experience with PFDs and P&IDs and mechanical equipment sizing.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and engineering of process equipment (reactors, pumps, heat exchangers, piping).
• Develop PFDs and P&IDs for new installations and modifications.
• Perform detailed mechanical calculations for sizing, stress analysis, and materials.
• Ensure safety, environmental compliance, and industry best practices; support construction and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and engineering of process equipment, including reactors, pumps, heat exchangers, and piping systems.
• Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for new installations and modifications.
• Perform detailed mechanical calculations for equipment sizing, stress analysis, and material selection.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices (e.g., ASME, API).
• Provide technical support during the construction, commissioning, and operational phases of projects.
• Collaborate with process engineers, safety officers, and project managers to achieve project objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in process design, particularly within the chemical, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical industries.
• Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer principles.
