Job summary

Shift Pursuit in Cape Town seeks an experienced Professional Mechanical Engineer to lead machine design and engineering analysis for client projects. You will conduct ANSYS simulations, perform FEM, and develop safe, reliable mechanical systems.

You will prepare calculations, drawings, and documentation, mentor junior engineers, ensure compliance with standards, and collaborate with project managers, draughtspersons, and manufacturers to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
• Registered with ECSA as PrEng.
• Approximately 10 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop machinery and equipment per project requirements.
• Perform ANSYS simulations and finite element analyses.
• Carry out structural, stress, thermal, and fatigue analyses.
• Prepare calculations, specs, and design documents.
• Produce detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings.
• Ensure compliance with standards and client specifications.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide the design team.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders.
• Oversee timelines, budget, and quality.
