C3 Resource Investments (Pty) Ltd invites an experienced Senior Mechanical Draughtsman to lead the development of complex 3D models and detailed drawings for industrial equipment and process plants.

The candidate should demonstrate independence, strong problem-solving, and the ability to guide junior team members while coordinating with multidisciplinary engineers. This role emphasizes high-precision fabrication documentation and installation-ready drawings.

Qualifications

• Relevant Mechanical Draughting or Technical Draughting qualification.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in mechanical draughting and 3D modelling within an engineering or industrial environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD or comparable 3D mechanical design software.
• Extensive experience producing complex mechanical assemblies, fabrication drawings and detailed manufacturing documentation.
• Strong understanding of mechanical components, materials, fabrication methods and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work independently from engineering specifications and conceptual designs.
• Experience reviewing technical drawings and guiding less experienced draughtsmen.
• Exposure to process plant equipment, pressure vessels, heat exchangers or industrial machinery advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail, technical problem-solving and multidisciplinary coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review complex 3D mechanical models, assemblies and detailed engineering drawings.
• Produce general arrangement, manufacturing, fabrication and installation drawings.
• Prepare and verify bills of materials (BOMs), drawing schedules and technical documentation.
• Interpret engineering concepts, sketches, specifications and design calculations.
• Coordinate mechanical layouts and equipment interfaces with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Ensure drawings comply with engineering standards, manufacturing requirements and project specifications.
• Review drawing quality, resolve technical detailing challenges and implement design modifications.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level draughtsmen.
• Support engineering projects through design, fabrication, installation and commissioning.
