Job summary

C3 Resources is seeking an experienced Mechanical Draughtsman to join our engineering team in Centurion. You will develop accurate 3D models, detailed mechanical drawings and fabrication documentation for varied industrial equipment and process plant applications.

Ideal candidates have strong 3D modelling skills, proven experience with Autodesk Inventor or AutoCAD, and a solid background in creating assemblies, fabrication drawings and BOMs for engineering projects.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Mechanical Draughting or Technical Draughting.
• 510 years' experience in mechanical draughting and 3D modelling in an engineering/industrial environment.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD or comparable 3D design software.
• Experience creating detailed assemblies, fabrication drawings and BOMs.
• Understanding of mechanical components, materials and fabrication practices.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical docs.
• Exposure to process plant equipment or industrial machinery is advantageous.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Mechanical Draughtsman (510 years) to join a skilled Mechanical Engineering team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing accurate 3D models, detailed mechanical drawings and fabrication documentation for a variety of industrial equipment and process plant applications.

This position is ideal for a technically capable draughtsman who enjoys practical mechanical design, problem-solving and working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models, mechanical assemblies and manufacturing drawings.
• Produce general arrangement, fabrication and installation drawings for mechanical equipment.
• Prepare bills of materials (BOMs), drawing schedules and technical documentation.
• Interpret engineering sketches, specifications and design calculations.
• Assist engineers with equipment layouts, component detailing and mechanical design development.
• Ensure drawings comply with engineering standards, manufacturing requirements and project specifications.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Structural, Process and other engineering disciplines.
• Review and update drawings based on engineering changes, fabrication feedback and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant Mechanical Draughting or Technical Draughting qualification.
• 510 years' experience in mechanical draughting and 3D modelling within an engineering or industrial environment.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD or comparable 3D mechanical design software.
• Experience producing detailed mechanical assemblies, fabrication drawings and bills of materials.
• Sound understanding of mechanical components, materials, manufacturing processes and fabrication practices.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Exposure to process plant equipment, pressure vessels, heat exchangers or industrial machinery advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail, technical problem-solving and organisational skills.
