About the Role

Our client seeks a seasoned Senior Mechanical Designer to join their team in Stellenbosch . This role is crucial for translating engineering concepts into tangible, manufacturable designs. You will leverage your deep knowledge of CAD tools and manufacturing processes to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for complex mechanical systems. Working closely with mechanical engineers and manufacturing specialists, you will ensure designs are robust, cost-effective, and meet all project requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings for mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks .
• Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure their accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers to review and refine designs based on simulation results and DFM feedback.
• Perform tolerance stack-up analyses to ensure part interchangeability and product functionality.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of design documentation and release processes.
• Support prototype builds and production by troubleshooting design-related issues.
