Job summary

Network Finance is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for a leading engineering organisation in South Africa's mining sector. You will lead design, analyse, and optimise mining equipment with FEA/DEM, and provide engineering support on site.

The role requires a Pr. Eng registration with ECSA, a B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering, and strong hands-on experience with ANSYS and Rocky DEM, plus mining site exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is essential.
• 29–35 years age range preferred for a senior position.
• Strong experience in mechanical design and engineering analysis (FEA/DEM).
• Mining industry experience is essential and site exposure is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute mechanical design projects from concept to detailed design.
• Perform FEA and DEM simulations using ANSYS and Rocky DEM.
• Analyse structural integrity, loads, stress, fatigue and equipment performance.
• Translate simulation results into practical design improvements.
• Provide technical leadership and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and site personnel.
• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations and specifications.
• Support fabrication, installation, commissioning and operation.
