Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and development of consumer electronic products, including enclosures, mechanisms, and thermal solutions.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using industry‑standard software.
• Perform engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and tolerance analysis, to ensure product performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with industrial designers to translate aesthetic concepts into manufacturable designs.
• Work closely with electrical engineers to integrate PCBAs, batteries, and other electronic components.
• Specify and source components, working with suppliers to ensure quality and cost targets are met.
• Develop and execute product testing plans, including functional, environmental, and reliability testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues during prototyping, pilot runs, and mass production.
• Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in consumer electronics and relevant manufacturing technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in mechanical design, with a strong focus on consumer electronics.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360).
• Experience with FEA and CFD simulation tools is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of plastic injection molding, metal stamping, and other relevant manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of material selection for consumer electronics applications.
• Experience with DFM/DFA principles and implementing them in designs.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working in a hybrid team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
