Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for their Paarl team. You will lead the design and development of advanced mechanical systems, from concept to production support.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and at least 6 years of experience, with proficiency in SolidWorks or Inventor and basic FEA. You will collaborate across manufacturing and R&D to optimize designs and ensure reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in mechanical design.
• Proficient with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor) and basic FEA tools.
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and document mechanical components and assemblies using advanced CAD software.
• Perform stress, thermal, and vibration analysis to ensure design reliability.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and R&D to optimize designs for production and performance.
• Develop and maintain technical specifications, drawings, and BOMs.
• Troubleshoot design issues during manufacturing and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to project planning and execution.
