Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for our Mossel Bay client. You will lead end-to-end design of mechanical systems, develop 3D models and drawings, and guide junior engineers through product development from concept to production.

You will apply advanced CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation (ANSYS, COMSOL) to ensure performance, manufacturability, and reliability, while collaborating with manufacturing and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 6 years of professional experience in mechanical product design.
• Expertise in 3D parametric modeling (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
• Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Proven experience in leading design projects and mentoring junior staff.
