Job summary

Assegai Recruitment is seeking a Materials Laboratory Supervisor in Ballito to coordinate and supervise daily field, sampling and testing activities for soils, aggregates and concrete.

You will ensure compliance with standard methods, QA and QMS, manage workflow and resources, and lead laboratory technicians to maintain competency and performance. Experience with SANS methods and ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation would be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Coordinate and supervise daily field, sampling and testing activities (soils, aggregates, concrete).
• Ensure compliance with standard methods, quality assurance and Quality Management System (QMS).
• Manage workflow, turnaround times, and resource allocation.
• Supervise, guide, and assess laboratory technicians, ensuring competency, performance, and adherence to quality.
• Maintain equipment Operational Integrity and safe working conditions.
• Perform testing as required to meet operational needs.
• Review Raw data to ensure compliance with standard and QMS.
• Support audits, quality investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
