Job summary

Placements24 is partnering with a global pharmaceutical company to recruit a Market Access Manager based in Richards Bay. The role focuses on securing optimal market access and reimbursement by payers, health authorities and stakeholders across South Africa, with emphasis on KwaZulu-Natal.

You will develop regional market access strategies, conduct HEOR analyses, prepare HTA submissions, and collaborate with commercial, medical and regulatory teams to enable patient access to therapies.

Qualifications

• Masters-level or PhD in health economics, public health, pharmacy, public policy or related field.
• Minimum 6 years in market access, HEOR or government affairs within pharma/healthcare.
• Deep knowledge of SA healthcare system including public and private reimbursement mechanisms.
• Proven ability to develop and execute market access strategies with payers and authorities.
• Strong HTA understanding and HEOR principles.
• Excellent analytical, strategic and stakeholder engagement skills.
• English fluency; local languages advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop national and regional market access strategies for key products.
• Engage with health authorities, formularies and payers to secure reimbursement.
• Conduct HEOR studies to support value propositions and submissions.
• Prepare dossiers for HTA bodies and reimbursement agencies.
• Build relationships with KOLs, patient groups and providers.
• Monitor policy changes and competitor strategies; adapt accordingly.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, medical, regulatory and legal teams.
• Provide market access training to internal stakeholders.
