Placements24 is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer for our client in Nelspruit. The role focuses on optimizing manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring product quality through industrial engineering principles.

It combines on-site engagement with production and quality teams and remote analysis for reporting and planning. Ideal candidates have a strong technical background, 5–7 years in manufacturing process engineering, and a proven track record in Lean/Six

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing process engineering role.
• Proven experience in process optimization, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab).
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with CAD software for layout design is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in both on-site and remote settings, demonstrating strong self-management.
• Knowledge of automation and robotics in manufacturing is desirable.
• Must be located in or willing to commute to Nelspruit.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, cost, quality, and safety.
• Design, develop, and implement new or improved manufacturing processes, including equipment selection, layout design, and workflow optimization.
• Utilize statistical analysis and process modeling tools to evaluate process performance and support decision-making.
• Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation.
• Implement and champion Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
• Conduct time studies, capacity planning, and bottleneck analysis to optimize production flow.
• Collaborate with R&D and product design teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
• Train production personnel on new processes, equipment, and best practices.
• Monitor and report on key manufacturing KPIs, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
