Placements24 is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to join our client’s on-site team in Centurion, Gauteng, SA. This role focuses on preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing complex industrial machinery, and ensuring uptime of production lines.

The ideal candidate has a trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics, at least five years’ hands-on experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. Shifts and on-call as required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience as a Maintenance Technician in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with CMMS software and reading technical drawings/schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on pumps, motors, conveyors, and automated systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues and carry out repairs.
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair new equipment and machinery.
• Read and interpret manuals, blueprints, schematics, and diagnostic data.
• Maintain CMMS records of maintenance activities.
• Ensure safety regulations and company policies are followed.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Maintenance Technician to join our essential operations team in Centurion, Gauteng, ZA. This is a critical on-site role focused on ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of our complex industrial machinery. You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing equipment failures, and implementing proactive measures to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate possesses a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. This role is vital to maintaining our production capabilities and ensuring operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on a wide range of industrial machinery, including pumps, motors, conveyors, and automated systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues, and carry out timely and effective repairs.
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair new equipment and machinery.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and diagnostic data.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend upgrades or modifications to equipment.
• Assist in the inventory management of spare parts and consumables.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians.
• Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and production line stoppages.

Requirements

• Trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Maintenance Technician in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Proven expertise in troubleshooting and repairing complex industrial machinery.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with CMMS software is essential.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
