Job summary

Crane Worldwide Logistics in South Africa seeks a senior Commercial Leader to drive the country sales strategy and manage a multi-disciplinary team across air, ocean, road, and contract logistics.

You will recruit and develop high-caliber sales and account-management talent, set targets for revenue and gross profit, and partner with Operations, Pricing, Procurement and Finance to deliver profitable solutions for diverse markets in Southern Africa.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of leadership in freight forwarding or logistics.
• Experience leading multi-role commercial teams and revenue growth.
• Strong knowledge of air/ocean/road freight, warehousing and contract logistics.
• Proven ability to manage tenders, pricing, and contracts.
• Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

• Lead the South African sales strategy and translate country objectives into regional, team and individual plans.
• Recruit, onboard, coach, develop and retain high-caliber sales and account-management talent.
• Set measurable targets for revenue, gross profit and pipeline conversion.
• Own the commercial operating rhythm with forecast accuracy and reviews.
• Drive profitable growth balancing volume, margin and customer value.
• Ensure commission and profit-linked performance aligns with company plans.
• Collaborate with Operations, Pricing, Procurement, Finance and Marketing to deliver solutions.
• Support tenders, pricing reviews, contract negotiations and executive engagements.
