Placements24 is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee distribution and logistics operations in Paarl, Western Cape. You will lead a team, manage warehouse activities, and drive process improvements to optimize the supply chain for our client’s regional operations.

Responsibilities include supervising receiving, warehousing, inventory control, and dispatch, implementing efficiency strategies, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in operations management, with a focus on distribution and logistics.
• Proven experience in managing warehouse operations and inventory control.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles and transportation management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in the Paarl, Western Cape area is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the distribution center, including receiving, warehousing, inventory management, and dispatch.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse and logistics staff.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
• Monitor inventory levels and implement effective inventory control measures.
• Collaborate with transportation partners and internal departments to ensure smooth and timely deliveries.
• Analyze operational performance data and prepare regular reports for management.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
• Manage operational budgets and control expenses.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers.
