Job summary

Cape Peninsula University of Technology is seeking a Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Public Administration and Governance at the District Six Campus in Cape Town. You will deliver high-quality learning, teaching and assessment, and provide postgraduate supervision at Master’s and Doctoral levels.

You will contribute to curriculum renewal, publish research, support student success, and strengthen ties with public sector partners.

Qualifications

• PhD in Public Administration, Public Management, or related field.
• Masters in Public Administration or related field.
• 4 years of lecturing in a higher education environment (Senior Lecturer).
• Evidence of successful postgraduate supervision.
• Evidence of research output in accredited journals.
• Experience with hybrid learning models (face-to-face and online).
• Proven ability in postgraduate lecturing research methodology.

Responsibilities

• Lecturing to undergraduate and postgraduate students and supervising master’s and doctoral research.
• Contribute to department academic initiatives and quality assurance.
• Handle assessment and academic administration.
• Develop and renew curricula with quality assurance.
• Build links with industry and training providers.
• Conduct research and supervise projects in postgraduate programs.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Minimum Requirements: Senior Lecturer

• An underpinning Masters in Public Administration, Public Management, Public Governance, Development Management, Public Policy, Development Studies or a closely related field.

• Evidence of research output in DHET accredited journals.
• Knowledge and experience of the hybrid models of learning, teaching and assessment (face-to-face and online).
