Job summary

Cape Peninsula University of Technology invites applications for a Lecturer to teach undergraduate and postgraduate across Information Systems, Business Administration and/or Business Informatics per the syllabus. The role includes contributing to the Department's Graduate Centre for Management, curriculum design, implementation and assessment.

The successful candidate will supervise postgraduate students, convene post-doctoral research, participate in academic leadership, and engage in research

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in BIS/IS/CS/BA/Management with specialisation in Informatics or related field.
• An underpinning qualification in BIS/BA/Management with specialisation in Information Systems/IT or related field.
• At least two years' full-time lecturing experience in a higher education environment or four years relevant industry experience in Information Technology.
• Knowledge and experience of hybrid models of teaching and learning (face-to-face and online).
• A PhD/Doctorate in BIS/IS/CS/BA/Management with specialisation in Informatics or related field.
• At least four years’ full-time relevant lecturing experience in a higher education environment.
• Track record in postgraduate supervision.
• Evidence of research output in DHET accredited journals.

Responsibilities

• Lectures subjects within the field of Business Information Systems, Business Administration and/or Business Management.
• Compiles subject guides in compliance with University rules.
• Use appropriate teaching methods, practices and technologies.
• Develop learning materials for students.
• Assist students with problems in learning and appointment of tutors/mentors.
• Workload allocation may change according to departmental/faculty needs as determined by the Head of Department.

Education

Master’s degree or equivalent in Business Information Systems, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration and/or Business Management with specialisation in Informatics or related field

An underpinning qualification in Business Information Systems, Business Administration and/or Business Management with specialisation in Information Systems, Informatics or Information Technology or related field
