Qualifications

• PhD in Chemical Engineering required; all underpinning qualifications must be in Chemical Engineering.
• At least 4 years lecturing experience at the higher education level or 4 years related industry experience at senior level or a combination of the two.
• Demonstrable evidence of publications (peer reviewed) in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Track record of successful postgraduate supervision.
• Evidence of appropriate academic and research leadership.
• Must be registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Academic Development and Teaching: prepare and lecture specific instructional offerings at all levels as required; teach and apply theory in practice; review assessments methods; implement evaluation systems for learning outcomes; supervise and mentor students.
• Administration: assist in departmental administration duties; participate in cooperative education activities; assist in programme marketing with schools and outreach.
• Research: engage in at least one research area; supervise group projects; contribute to peer and departmental research; secure funding and foster industry partnerships.
• Assisting with coordination of curricula and activities linked to Chemical Engineering, teaching and learning, academic administration, research, accreditation and industry partnerships.
